ARCC DEMENTIA SPEAKS
In our community, Dementia Speaks is a 4-day education opportunity designed to inform specific communities about the effects of dementia.
If you are a caregiver or you provide some level of support for someone living with dementia, this education program is for you. The information is facilitated by professionals with the following backgrounds: social work, gerontology, medical, counseling, care coordination/management, and legal.
Topics Covered / Questions Answered:

What is Alzheimer's disease and/or Dementia?

What causes Dementia?
-
What are the Treatment strategies?
-
How to Respond to Behaviors?
-
What are the Legal implications?
-
What are the available Resources?
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a Dementia Care Partner certificate.
The education program is provided at no cost to participants and is available in a community near you. If you are in need of Respite/Sitter Services to attend the seminars, please contact the Alzheimer's Association 2 weeks in advance by calling 1-800-272-3900.
